Position Summary

The Marketing & Development Specialist plays a key role in advancing EVOLVE Family Services’ mission through strategic communications, content creation, social media management, storytelling, and fundraising support. This position is responsible for executing marketing initiatives that increase community awareness, strengthen donor relationships, promote agency programs and events, and support organizational growth.

This role works collaboratively across departments to develop engaging digital and print content, maintain EVOLVE’s online presence, support fundraising campaigns and special events, and help ensure consistent and mission-aligned communication with families, donors, volunteers, and community partners.

Essential Functions

  1. Manage and maintain EVOLVE’s social media presence across all active platforms through content creation, scheduling, engagement, and analytics tracking.

  2. Create marketing and fundraising materials including digital graphics, print collateral, newsletters, donor communications, annual reports, presentations, and event materials.

  3. Manage and update website content, event pages, forms, blogs, and program information through the agency website platform.

  4. Support execution of fundraising campaigns including annual appeals, monthly giving initiatives, donor stewardship campaigns, peer-to-peer fundraising efforts, and seasonal giving campaigns.

  5. Assist with planning and execution of fundraising and community engagement events, including sponsorship fulfillment, registration support, volunteer coordination, event promotion, and day-of logistics.

  6. Draft and distribute email communications, newsletters, fundraising appeals, stewardship messaging, and promotional campaigns.

  7. Maintain donor and communication records within agency CRM and marketing systems while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

  8. Track and report marketing and fundraising analytics including email engagement, social media metrics, website traffic, advertising performance, and campaign outcomes.

  9. Collaborate with program staff and leadership to develop communication strategies, storytelling opportunities, and marketing plans for agency programs and initiatives.

  10. Support grant writing and reporting efforts through formatting, editing, data gathering, research, storytelling, and submission preparation.

  11. Coordinate production timelines and communication calendars to ensure projects and campaigns are completed on schedule.

  12. Research and identify opportunities for increased community engagement, audience growth, donor retention, and brand visibility.

  13. Participate in agency meetings, trainings, community outreach efforts, and initiatives.

  14. Participate in monthly discussions or learnings about anti-oppressive practice at team meetings.

Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, or related field preferred; equivalent professional experience considered.

  • Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in marketing, communications, fundraising support, nonprofit development, or related field preferred.

  • Experience with graphic design platforms such as Adobe Creative Cloud and/or Canva preferred.

  • Experience managing websites, preferably Squarespace or WordPress.

  • Experience using email marketing platforms such as Constant Contact or Mailchimp preferred.

  • Familiarity with analytics and reporting platforms such as Google Analytics and Meta Insights preferred.

  • Experience using CRM or donor database systems preferred.

  • Strong written communication, organization, and time management skills required.

  • This position must be able to pass a background check and FBI clearance.

·       Reliable transportation for onsite days and agency/community events required. Valid driver’s license with current vehicle insurance and acceptable driving record preferred.

Work Environment

This hybrid role is for a Minnesota or Wisconsin based employee who can be in-office 2-3 times a week in Oak Park Heights, MN. The EVOLVE workspaces are semi-private, and open air with partitions separating workspaces. The EVOLVE office is a pet-friendly workplace. All employees are provided with a laptop to work from home, provided the employee maintains high-speed internet and cell phone service. Your home workspace must be conducive to performing your role. Whether at home, or at the office, this role requires sitting for extended periods of time at a desk, while utilizing a computer to complete work. The hours of this role typically fall between 8:30-4:30, Monday-Friday, with occasional evening or weekend hours for tabling, outreach, and special events.
