STAY (Successful Transition into Adulthood for Youth)

STAY (Successful Transition into Adulthood for Youth) empowers young people who have experienced foster care or other out-of-home placements to envision, plan, and achieve a future of independence. With no cost to eligible participants, STAY offers a supportive path toward self-defined success—helping youth build confidence through skills in financial literacy, housing, education, employment, relationships, and self‐advocacy. Partnering youth with caring adults and personalized resources, STAY helps them become the drivers of their own journey into adulthood.

STAY empowers youth to imagine and define what independence and success mean to them. Our team walks alongside each young person, offering guidance, encouragement, and practical tools to help them achieve their vision for autonomy.

STAY serves youth who have experienced foster care or other out-of-home placements, supporting their transition into adulthood. Eligible placements include:

  • Residential Care Services

  • Residential Treatment Programs

  • Foster Care

All services are provided at no cost to youth who have been in an approved out-of-home placement for at least 30 days.

How STAY Provides Support

Youth engage through:

  • Independent Living Support – one-on-one guidance tailored to each youth’s goals.

  • Independent Living Skills Groups – practical workshops and peer learning.

  • Youth Leadership Council (YLC) – opportunities to lead, advocate, and shape programming.

Our philosophy is simple: youth are the drivers of their own bus, with EVOLVE providing the fuel, support, and encouragement to keep them moving forward.

Additional Supports

To reduce barriers, STAY also offers financial assistance for:

  • Rent and apartment damage deposits (for participants in case management).

  • College application costs.

  • Obtaining a learner’s permit or driver’s license.
